On April 21, 2007 8:46 AM our son Nathan T. Chau was born.
Ten days after the estimated day, we found out that he was sitting up in Jen's tummy (instead of head down) so we had to have a c section instead of natural birth. Nathan was 9 lbs and 7 oz at birth and 22 inches long. There are some pictures in the gallery section. Please pray for Jen's quick recovery and all transitions of having a new family member. We find that through every child we have God is refining us through the journey of pregnancy, labor, birth and child rearing. May our Lord be glorified through it all!

I am really praying that the baby boy will not hit above the 9 lb mark.
There are 5 more weeks to go.
This is the last leg of the race where the baby and me will gain lots of weight.
Lord we pray for a healthy baby and a quick and smooth birth.

It's been three months

We've lived in Amherst, MA for three months now. As you might notice we have not blogged much.
So much has happened and so I will summarize it for you.
After we came back from LA to Albany, we found out that we are expecting our third child.
We also found out that our sister in law Sarita (Joe's brother's wife) has Leukemia.
God brought in all the basic financial and prayer support we needed to start the work in U Mass Amherst.
We found a two bedroom home to move into.
We moved, unloaded and jump into campus work all in the same weekend.
The first month was very difficult because of all the changes.
Joe was out all the time and nights. I was home with the girls and was very sick from the first trimester of the pregnancy.
Since we only had one car then me and the girls were pretty much home bounded for awhile.
That was very difficult for me and the kids. Since we been praying for a mini van for awhile.
God provided us with a great deal to purchase a mini van. I felt like I had wings =)
Recently we found out that we are expecting a BOY. It's exciting and scary.
We went to the Northeast Region Staff retreat for Crusade. It was such a warm environment, I felt like we were an extended family, who understands the journey to full time ministry.
Following the retreat we went down to NYC to celebrate Thanksgiving and Lydia's Third Birthday.
It was a wonderful time of food and family love.
Now it's going to be Christmas soon. We are looking forward to spend it here in Amherst.... our new home.
I been trying be more active in putting special touches to make the place filled with warmth and love.
It's a real stretch since my background is engineering. And I'm not that crafty.
Well, that's it for now. Oh and we hope to go cut down our own Christmas tree for the first time.
That should be an experience to remember for our girls and this Brooklyn gal.

WE MOVED! Aug 30 we loaded up a 26' rental truck and droved to Amherst on the 31st and unload all our earthly possession. It was exhausting. We are so in debt to all the people who had helped with the move. Things are moving so fast these days. We were on campus and taking surveys with the freshmen three days after we arrived here. There are lots of meetings and followup's (so far we have around 800 contacts) WOW God is good! Please pray that they will get a chance to hear the gospel clearly and receive Jesus as their Lord and savior.

It's club day tomorrow. May the Lord bring divine appointments for us with many students.

So many God stories to tell. We are now at 93%! Praise God 7% more and we are heading out to U Mass Amherst. We are hoping to move some time in Aug.
LA, California

We have been herer since Tuesday. The flight was not easy but not too painful. Lydia and Pricilla was tired but couldn't sleep. When we arrived at Grandma's place everyone slept well that night, we were just too exhausted.

The next day(Wednesday) the kids woke up around 6 in the morning. Oh the days of sleeping in late!Jen got sick that afternoon and threw up all over the streets of LA. Not a pretty sight. Praise God she is better now.

Thursday was pretty good. We hang low and try to just adjust to the temperature and climate of LA. We had a chance to hang out in the night time with one of Joe's cousin, Idy, and King. Great time of sharing and feasting of Thai food. Yum Yum.

Right now we are getting someone to fix the central air in Grandma's place. It's such a privilage to be able to help her with things like these when we are here. Joe has an appointment this afternoon with a pastor. He was the pastor of Joe's church in Hong Kong. Of course Joe was like 5 years old then, the memories of him is limited. But this pastor has a church here in LA now and we pray that they will partner with us in reaching to the college students. May God be glorified in their lives! Amen.

by the way totally check out the pictures of
Lydia being a flower girl in Jeff and Cindy's wedding in NYC last week.
